Welcome to Social Science and Humanities College

The College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH) is one of the colleges of Ambo University established to enhance Teaching-learning Process, Research Activities, and Community Services. The College was launched in 2001 E.C with four departments: English Language and Literature, Afan Oromo and Literature, Cooperatives, and Rural Development. In the following years, departments in the College were become six in number by adding department of Law, Civics and Ethical education, department of Sociology and social works by the year 2003 E.C. Then, in 2003, departments of Cooperatives, departments of Rural Development and Law were become independent and reorganized as institutes (school)being separated from College Social Sciences and Humanities. After that, Department of Civics and Ethical Studies ( in 2003); Department of Political sciences and International Relations ( in 2007); Department of Journalism and Communication ( in 2009); Department of sociology (in 2007), department of social work (in 2008) and General Linguistics(in 2009) were rearranged and established under College of Social Sciences and Humanity. Right now, the college has seven academic departments and eight programs such as; Afan Oromo& Literature, English Language & Literature, Civics & Ethical Education, Political Sciences and International Relations, Sociology, Social Works, Journalism and Communications, and General Linguistics (program).

Skilled Lecturers

The term 21st century skills refers to a broad set of knowledge, skills, work habits, and character traits that are believed to exist by educators, school reformers, college professors, employers, and others. Overall, a skilled lecturer is someone who is able to inspire and educate their audience through their expertise and communication skills.

Book Library & Store

Electronic resources (or e-resources) are materials in digital format accessible electronically. Examples of e-resources are electronic journals (e-journal), electronic books (e-book) online databases in varied digital formats.
