It has since grown to eight staff, including two PhD holders, five MA holders, and one assistant lecturer. The department provides both academic and practical training, with students gaining hands-on experience through internships at EBC, FBC, and the Ethiopian Press Agency. Many graduates now work in national, regional, and private media outlets.
