Ambo University Guder Mamo Mazamir Campus organized a field day today, October 21, 2025. The activities began at the Hacalu Hundessa Campus Tef farm, which spans over 33.5 hectares, and then moved to Abebech Gobena Research Center and various farmers\u2019 yard demonstration sites. Dr. Bayisa Leta, President of Ambo University, highlighted the field day as a valuable opportunity for local farmers to gain practical insights that could enhance the University operations and community services. Dr. Nigusie Bekele, the Director of Guder Mamo Mazamir Campus, also emphasized the importance of this event as an enjoyable on-farm workshop. The field visitors were smallholder farmers, commercial farmers, representatives from agricultural research centers, scientists from CIMMYT, professionals, members of the Ambo University community, and officials from Toke Kutaye Woreda and West Shewa Zone Administration. The field day featured collaborative research efforts between Ambo University and CIMMYT (International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center) on key issues, including seed multiplication, nutrition management experiments, and crop rotation using good agricultural practices. Generally, the field day event reflects Ambo University\u2019s commitment to agricultural development and education, community engagement, and fostering collaboration between academia and local agricultural stakeholders.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
