Ambo University College of Business and Economics is one of the leading academic units of Ambo University, dedicated to producing competent professionals equipped with practical skills, ethical values, and innovative thinking. The College of Business and Economics (CBE) at Ambo University was established in 2006 (1999 E.C.) with three departments and currently offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs under 6 departments like Accounting & Finance, Cooperatives, Economics, Management, Marketing Management and Public Administration and Development Management. The College of Business and Economics is one of the high-profile college in Ambo University. The college has 81 academics staffs and 24 administration staffs. Out these 81 academic staffs 17 of them are Ph.D holders,19 of them on PhD and MSc study leave and 45 MA/MSc.The College offers 7 undergraduates’ programs in both regular and Extension (CEP Program) and 11 postgraduate programs across key disciplines. Undergraduate programs such as Accounting and Finance, Cooperative Business Management, Cooperative Accounting and Auditing, Economics, Management, Marketing Management, and Public Administration. Postgraduate in programs: Ph.D in Cooperative Studies program and MSc in Accounting and Finance, MBA in Accounting, MA in Cooperative Management, MA in Cooperative Accounting & Auditing, MA in Cooperative Economics and Social Enterprises, MSc in Development Economics, MSc in Development Management, MBA in Management, MA in Marketing Management and MA in Development Management. Through its strong academic foundation and research-driven approach, the College strives to meet the dynamic needs of the business world and contribute to the socio-economic development of Ethiopia.

In addition to its teaching excellence, the College of Business and Economics emphasizes community engagement, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving research. It fosters collaboration among students, faculty, and industry partners to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
