Vision
To become a nationally and internationally recognized center of excellence in veterinary laboratory science, research, and training that contributes to improved animal health, public health, and the One Health approach.
Mission
To train competent veterinary laboratory technologists equipped with modern scientific knowledge, practical skills, and ethical values; to conduct applied and problem-solving research in animal and zoonotic diseases; and to provide community and diagnostic services that support the livestock sector and safeguard public health.
Scope of the Department
The department is dedicated to:
- Providing quality education and hands-on training in veterinary laboratory sciences.
- Conducting applied and multidisciplinary research in priority disease areas.
- Delivering diagnostic, advisory, and extension services to the livestock and public health sectors.
- Contributing to national and regional development through the One Health framework.
