Adult Education and Community Development

Adult Education and Community Development (AECD) is one of the Departments that have been established in the Institute of Education and Behavioral Sciences in 2003 E.C. The department in its undergraduate and graduate programs produces professionals who plan, organize and manage and execute issues related to adult and non-formal education and community empowerment so that individuals will become lifelong learners. The department mainly focuses on parts of the community that have been denied access to formal education and lack life skills to cope with the rapidly changing world: aspires not to leave anyone behind. Thus, the department is working to produce democratic, visionary, innovative, change-oriented AECD professionals who discharge their responsibilities under the existing social contexts
