School of Law

The School of Law at Ambo University had a strong start as a department under College Of Social Science And Humanities in 2009 (2002 E.C.) with 60 students in the L.L.B. program launching this program with three staff members. In 2011 (2004 E.C.), it became independent and established as a School of Law. Since then, the School has grown to over 330 students and 24 instructors.

The School has settled permanently at the Ambo University Main Campus where it has expanded its projects and facilities. One of the great strengths of the School has been its diverse teaching staff and active student association.

Like most law schools in Ethiopia, the School of Law at Ambo University does not have separate departments, so every law graduate is trained in all parts of the law. The School has operated under the reformed national curriculum of 2013 (2005 E.C.) developing a five-year curriculum for all Ethiopian law faculties.
